Hay Fever and Food Intolerances
A Food Intolerance is when your body adversely reacts to a food that you have ingested, it is the particular proteins in the foods that are problematic. When you have a hay fever like reaction to pollens or grasses, it is as well the proteins in the pollens that are the problem. It is thought that this type of cross reactivity occurs because the immune system is already being over stimulated by the proteins in the foods, so when the proteins from the pollens and grasses come along the body reacts in a similar fashion. It is common for a hay fever problem to disappear once the intolerant foods are removed from the diet, as the immune system is not over reacting anymore. So if hay fever season is problematic for you, maybe it is time that you looked at the possibility that your body is having cross reactions that are really related to a Food Intolerance.
