We took our daughter Kayla to see Sharon as she was getting quite bad stomach pain with debilitating nausea, bloating, swollen lymph glands and lymphatic pain, as well as the occasional headaches. Kayla was also starting to lose considerable weight as she was scared to eat due to the pain it was causing her. We had had poor success with investigations through a Gastroenterologist including bloods, a gastroscopy and several medication trials. Sharon advised us the best way forward was to get a better understanding of what could be causing the problems. The tests that Sharon asked us to run revealed that Kayla was positive for fructose malabsorption. This meant that Kayla had to remove certain high fructose foods from her diet, which Kayla did diligently. Sharon also asked Kayla to take some supplements and herbal medicines to help with her gut health, which although the taste was pretty bad, Kayla did as she was asked. We saw some great improvements with Kayla’s health as the pain, nausea and headaches went away, the lymph glands settled, and Kayla gained back her weight as she was now happy to eat and not fearful of the pain. Her energy levels increased dramatically and her temperament picked up as well. We slowly reintroduced the fructose foods and reduced the herbs over a three month period and Kayla has remained well, even being able to eat croissants in Paris – which was the end goal for Kayla. The most positive of this experience was definitely the empathetic approach Sharon took with Kayla; where other health experts were quick to pass Kayla’s symptoms off as “anxiety”, Sharon listened to what Kayla was experiencing and was very quick to diagnose and treat her symptoms with success.
